Jake in Peru

So, Senor Yake went to Peru for two weeks and volunteered at an orphanage helping build a little and play with the kids. We cannot wait to hear more about it--here he is at Machu Picchu contemplating life's purposes....

First Day of Swim Practice

Ok, it was the first day of Swim Team for Charli, Ben and Allie. So much for living in "HOTLANTA," the temperature was a balmy 68 degrees outside. Poor Chabuka here was loving the swimming, even with her teeth chattering...bring on the summer!

Day trip to Athens!

Saturday we drove to Athens, GA for a day trip. We visited the campus of the University of Georgia (founded in 1785!), the State Botanical Gardens, and of course, Sanford Stadium (pictured above), the home of the Dawgs! It seats over 90k and is the fifth largest on-campus stadium in the country. Ben says he'd like to play for either BYU or Georgia...

A Day at the Animal Shelter

Amie and Paula Bothwell took the kids to meet Stacy at the local animal shelter and walk the dogs as a part of their exercise. Needless to say, it was a great time had by all and the kids fell in love with several dogs. We are getting closer and closer, weakening Amie's steely resolve against having another baby, I mean dog around the house...

I've got Strep!

Yes, Charli has strep. And, she's the absolute best strep patient in the world

While waiting for her prescription to be filled, Amie painted Charli's toes...because, after all, a girl has GOT to look her absolute best at all times, Streptococcal pharyngitis notwithstanding!

Some of the contenders on race day-more than a dozen in all. Tenison was palpable...mainly coming from frustrated Dads....

At the end of the day, Ben's car came in 2nd in the Wolf Den and 3rd overall!! He averaged 3.22 seconds on the track. Thanks to our consultants, James Ridings and his son, Drew...couldn't have done it without you.

A relieved Dad and ecstatic son flashing their 2nd place victory signs! Not bad for first timers.

Spring is in the Air

Spring is here! With temperatures reaching the 70's throughout the weekend, buds sprung and flowers started blooming. I'm "old school" because Spring still represents possibilities and hope, not merely a signal that Spring Break is right around the corner, or a panic button that summer reservations need to be made.
